greetings. sadly i must move on from florence. i have enjoyed this city, possibly more thani even enjoyed rome. i would say rome has more, but florence hasbetter. the prices in this city are quite reasonable– cheaper than rome and everything in europe is relatively affordable because you humanshave grossly mismanaged your global economy and put certain regions into terrible financialdifficulty. one human’s gain is another’s loss – isuppose. at any rate, florence is beautiful and nottoo expensive – if you come here try to
stay near the duomo, where peter and i were. onward and upwards. i will be back on the road today, travellingfrom florence to bologna, with a detour in the opposite direction to sienna. although it is not the most rational or directroute i think it makes sense. this has been a meandering, absent mindedtrip, so in keeping with that theme we will drive south to sienna, check out the city, and turn right back around to head north up to bologna. sienna is very small and very beautiful.
you can basically park your car at the edgeof the city and walk to the middle of the city within a few minutes. it’s very hilly and old – i believe manyof its structures were spared devastation during the great human wars of your past,so these old buildings still stand in excellent condition. when i move around these old italian citiesi can’t help but think about the process of obtaining a building permit back in california. these great structures would never receivea permit in california. yet here they stand, centuries old and sobeautiful people travel from around the world
to view them. stupid humans. it took quite some time to get to bologna,so i will initiate a rest cycle and my servant
car hire pisa airport, peter will prepare our quarters. up to now the trip has been largely unstructured, but starting tomorrow we have some more formal activities planned and things should get veryinteresting. humans.
