greetings. sadly i must move on from florence. i have enjoyed this city, possibly more thani even enjoyed rome. i would say rome has more, but florence hasbetter. the prices in this city are quite reasonable– cheaper than rome and everything in europe is relatively affordable because you humanshave grossly mismanaged your global economy and put certain regions into terrible financialdifficulty. one human’s gain is another’s loss – isuppose. at any rate, florence is beautiful and nottoo expensive – if you come here try to

stay near the duomo, where peter and i were. onward and upwards. i will be back on the road today, travellingfrom florence to bologna, with a detour in the opposite direction to sienna. although it is not the most rational or directroute i think it makes sense. this has been a meandering, absent mindedtrip, so in keeping with that theme we will drive south to sienna, check out the city, and turn right back around to head north up to bologna. sienna is very small and very beautiful.

you can basically park your car at the edgeof the city and walk to the middle of the city within a few minutes. it’s very hilly and old – i believe manyof its structures were spared devastation during the great human wars of your past,so these old buildings still stand in excellent condition. when i move around these old italian citiesi can’t help but think about the process of obtaining a building permit back in california. these great structures would never receivea permit in california. yet here they stand, centuries old and sobeautiful people travel from around the world

to view them. stupid humans. it took quite some time to get to bologna,so i will initiate a rest cycle and my servant

car hire pisa airport

car hire pisa airport, peter will prepare our quarters. up to now the trip has been largely unstructured, but starting tomorrow we have some more formal activities planned and things should get veryinteresting. humans.

the historical city of edinburgh is one of the finest examples of scottish heritage. the beautiful edinburgh castle seated at the top of the royal mile historic walkway in the centre of “old town” is the crowning jewel in the edinburgh cityscape offering fantastic views of both edinburgh city and the castle itself. be sure to see the firing of the cannons at 1pm daily from the castle walls. edinburgh plays host to so many other cultural treats too, such as the national museum of scotland, arthurs seat, scottish national gallery and the famous edinburgh zoo – home to tain tian and yang guang the giant panda’s. after all that walking, hop into the car and head for inverness, take the forth road bridge out of edinburgh, look to the right to see the iconic red cantilever fourth bridge built in 1890. carry on north through the historic city of perth into the beautiful cairngorms national park, the largest national park in the british isles.

the things to watch out for when you rent a car. the big thing is what level of damage you have to pay if something happens.you don't really want to wait till you're at the car rental desk to find that out. you wanna know when you're booking. most of our competitors have a $3,000 excess, ours is much much lower. for our top cover, it's only a little bit more to get a zero excess whereas most other companies are threefour five times that amount to get the equivalent cover. and that is our point of difference. the other thing is, i mean there's alot of extrasinvolve where you get to the counter and and there is a credit card surcharges, registration recovery fees. what's that? i don't know what that is. i have been working in the business for thirty and i still can't explain what it is. you gotta watch out for these little extras and we try and not to have these little extras. we try and go - ok online it says that's what you going to pay,

that's what you going to pay. other people they've got good quality cars but we've got great quality cars. you know the worse thing that we possibly want is someone to be stuck on the side of the road saying - my car's broken down and we just don't get that telephonecall. they've all got all the airbags, all the safety gears

car hire perth wa

car hire perth wa,all that stuff which we buy. ifyou book a corolla or tarago or a rav you get a corolla, a tarago or a rav. when we serve you at the counter, the car is just meters away and away we go and they walk pass when they walk in, they can see a line of corollas. one of them has got their name on it. and the big joke when they come in they go - oh! i'll have a white one, thanks!

germany's romantic road, the next leg of our journey, can't be done by train. it's best explored by rental car. we'll have this car for two days and drop it in munich. you can arrange your car rental before leaving home. prices vary dramatically from month to month, country to country, and from company to company, so shop around. even if you don't plan on driving, bring your license. your american license generally works just fine. it's fun, and it's easy, to rent a car on a whim.

there's nothing exotic about driving in europe. while the british drive on the left, everyone on the continent drives on the same side as we do in the usa. filling the tank here, whether diesel or gas, is like filling the tank back home. except it's euros and liters rather than dollars and gallons. figure four liters per gallon. don't overreact to europe's high cost of gas. over here, cars get great mileage, and distances are short. rental cars come with a basic insurance policy,

but the deductible can be really high. you can pay extra for zero deductible, for your peace of mind, but first, check with your insurance company at home to see how well you're already covered in europe. when driving, to cover long distances in a hurry, use the freeway. this is germany's autobahn. like most of europe, germany's laced with these super freeways. and around here, fast driving is considered a civil liberty.

on the autobahn, you'll learn quickly —the fast lane is used only for passing. cruise in the left lane, and you'll have a mercedes up your tailpipe. here and throughout northern europe, the autobahn is toll free. in france and countries south of germany, these super freeways usually come with tolls. learn some navigation basics. in germany, "zentrum" means "center" a giant letter "p" means parking. and this icon means autobahn.

color coding and arrows point you in the right direction. and while many travelers go through their entire trips thinking all roads lead to the town of ausfahrt, "ausfahrt" is german for "exit." this sign means traffic circle or roundabout. merge safely into the circle and take the exit for the direction you're heading. if you're not sure, relax, take an extra loop, and explore youroptions. entering a new town

— this is dinkelsbuhl — it's safe toassume that the church spire marks the center. and the tourist office is nearby. old town centers are increasinglydifficult to drive in — one-way streets or closed to cars entirely. drive as close as you can and find a place to park. confirm you're parked legally. your time's valuable. just pay to park. know the key road symbols. they're the samethroughout europe. no parking anytime.

no traffic allowed. wrong way — don't enter. this means no cars or bikes from 8:00 till midnight. no passing. and you know this one. make educated guesses. with this one, be ready for anything. i navigate by town names because roadnumbers on maps often don't match the signs. distances and speeds are in kilometers. on this road, 80 kilometers an hour.

a kilometer is 6/10 of a mile. to change to miles, cut the kilometers in half, add back 10% of the original. so, 80 kilometers per hour would be 40 plus 8 — 48 miles per hour. beware — photo speed trapscan be really expensive. and those with rental cars are billed by mail. save time and avoid wasted car rental days by picking up and dropping off your car in different cities like rothenburg and munich.

car hire paris,

when using a bigger company with many branches, you can generally do thisanywhere in the same country for no extra charge. while dropping a car in a different country usually comes with a high fee, it can also be a great convenience.

october is a great time to travel and hereare our top 5 picks of the month. the temperature’s still in the late 20’sin october, so marrakech is the perfect place to visit if you’re craving some octobersun. head to a hammam for a traditional marrakechspa treatment, watch a belly dance or take a stroll in the stunning jardin majorelle. our favourite thing about marrakech has gotto be the souks. souk semmarine is a great place to start. you’ll find ceramics, kaftans, traditionalclothing and, of course, delicious moroccan food.

from october 20th, austria’s most importantfilm event takes place inside some of the most beautiful cinemas in vienna’s historiccentre. over 94,000 visitors descend on the film festivalto watch a selection of over 300 films from across the globe! while you’re in vienna we recommend takingin the baroque streetscapes, and stopping by the belvedere to visit the world’s largestcollection of paintings by gustav klimt. autumn is the best time to visit china. golden week is china’s national holidaytaking place from october 1st to the 7th, and it’s for the whole week!

although it’s peak tourist season, it’salso the time to join the celebrations and explore what beijing has to offer. we’d recommend visiting the forbidden city. it’s china’s largest and best-preservedcollection of ancient buildings, and the largest palace complex in the world. it was off limits for 500 years, but has beenlisted as a unesco world heritage since 1987. every october people flock to the annual nottebianca event in the cityscape of valletta, malta! the event’s a huge celebration of people, culture and art and is the perfect excuse

to get a bit of october sun. the city’s museums, art galleries and otherattractions are open free of charge, and you’ll find the city’s finest musicians, dancersand other creative geniuses lining the streets - it will definitely be an unforgettable nightfor everyone. for winter sun head to puerto rico in grancanaria, which is one of the island’s favourite beach and sun hot-spots. it’s only about 35 minutes south of theairport passing playa del ingles and maspalomas on the way, and it’s absolutely stunning. the beautiful amadores beach here is idealfor families or anyone who’s not a particularly

strong swimmer, because you have great harbourwalls and sea defences that mean that the waves are tiny and the water’s nice andshallow. however, our favourite thing to do here byfar is dolphin watching. we took a tour and it did not disappoint,we saw a whole pod of dolphins swimming around our boat.
